workshop leaders & assistants

Come join the brood: we are seeking dynamic, experienced, workshop leaders & assistants to run ad-hoc craft sessions for our growing events company.

We are looking for people who will bring a sense of fun during the activities, as well as sharing skills with our participants. The majority of our clients are unfamiliar with craft techniques, and need an approach that guides them in gently. Our key client groups include hen parties, corporate events, special birthdays & baby showers; participants can vary massively in craft experience and ability. We also work with a variety of ages, though we predominantly cater to adults.

In order to continue providing an award winning service to our clients, we are seeking to increase our pool of freelance workshop providers across the UK. Please take a good look around our website to get a flavour of what we do.

These roles usually suit people already working freelance, or someone wanting to pick up an occasional bit of extra weekend work.

Practicalities:

Materials and equipment are provided for each session, with all preparation done for you, including demonstration examples, templates etc. Essentially we provide a workshop in a box!

I love that everything is sent to me ready to go and that someone else does the “admin” - I have a full time job and a young family so this arrangement works a treat for me!
— Kate A ( Hampshire Workshop Leader)

However, we need your flair to host and deliver to our groups! All workshops have a basic content to follow, but and there is plenty of scope within most workshops to teach to your strengths.  Please note we are not looking for workshop proposals.

Basic training can be provided on the exact session techniques (if required)

Working with Crafty Hen is a bit like being a magician... You get sent a box of delights, turn up to a lovely venue, entertain the crowd, bringing them in on the act and put them centre stage, ensuring everyone is having a lovely time... and then when all is done you dissappear again taking your box of tricks away, leaving the crowd in awe of what they’ve accomplished... and with memories they’ll never forget.
And just like a magician there is of course lots going on behind the scenes that the crowd doesn’t know about... but what fun to be the one who gets the oohs and ahhs and smiles and laughter... THAT’S MAGIC
