Virtual Workshop Bookings

Terms & Conditions

Deposit

  • A non-refundable deposit secures your booking.

  • By making this deposit payment you are agreeing to the terms set out here, and as such a contract is established. Please also inform your group of these terms and conditions.

  • If booking where the event date is three weeks away or less, the full cost is immediately payable in place of the non-refundable deposit.

  • Availability is subject to change at all times until a booking is secured with a deposit and we get in touch to acknowledge via email.

  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time up until a booking confirmed with a deposit and to correct errors in the prices of confirmed arrangements.

bALANCE

  • Confirming Group Size - Three weeks before your workshop we require a final head count.

  • Final Payment - At this three week point the remaining balance will be due, based on your final head count. Your payment deadline will be noted in email correspondence.

  • Late Payments - If payment is not received within three days of your payment deadline, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain the balance paid up to that point.

  • At time of payment, we need to know the following information for each household / guest taking part:

    • Name

    • Delivery Address

    • Email Address

    • Any additional information required (ie, colour scheme, etc.)

  • The fee includes all logistical preparation, dispatch of individual parcels of materials to guests in advance, access to the online workshop, and expert tuition. On occasion, depending on final group size, we may need to apply an additional fee should the group size increase so that the logistical prep (ie, delivery charges) increase beyond the costs covered, but will make you aware of this as soon as possible when applicable.

Payment

  • Payments are non-refundable.

  • Use your unique booking code as the reference so we can easily identify your payment.

  • You, the client, accepts responsibility for collecting monies and paying for all members of the group. We can not accept individual payments.

  • VAT - All payments due are inclusive of VAT (unless otherwise stated).

  • International Transactions - If processing the payment from abroad (outside of the UK) the sender is liable for all and any transaction charges / exchange fees. To ensure the full and correct payment reaches The Crafty Hen on time.

Materials

  • We dispatch all the materials out to individual guests ahead of the workshop date using predominantly Royal Mail and UPS. But on occasion may use other parcel services.

  • The Crafty Hen cannot be held responsible, nor be financially liable for any materials which do not reach their intended recipient ahead of the workshop due to delays or losses within the postal service.

  • We ask you to thoroughly check that all names, addresses and postcodes submitted are correct. If material parcels are returned to sender (The Crafty Hen) because of incorrect address details or mismatched names, there will be an additional charge for posting out again, and we cannot guarantee they will arrive with the guest on time.

  • Whilst we’ll send out all the main materials in advance, some activities will need additional tools to be provided by individuals on the day, for example, scissors, an iron, lighter, etc. We will make you aware of such items in advance.

iNTERNATIONAL PARCELS

  • Delivery Taxes

    • Customs Charges: Outside of the UK, local taxes and import duties may be applicable when parcels reach their specified destination. Please ensure to check with local custom offices for clarification on any taxes or duties that may be levied before finalising your booking. We cannot predict, nor control the exact amount that may be due for individual destinations, and we cannot be responsible for payment of any such taxes or import duties. Due to the broad and variable nature of worldwide custom charges and taxes, do get in touch to discuss the options available specific to your event and guests.

    • VAT: Depending upon the destination country, we will deduct the VAT from the cost of materials charged to you, as international guests may need to pay their own country’s equivalent tax upon delivery.

  • Prohibited Items

    • Custom regulations vary around the world. On occasion, some elements within our material packages may need to be substituted / removed in order to align with the customs requirements of the destination country.

    • Whether the windowsill garden materials can be dispatched to certain countries will need to be advised upon on a case by case basis due to the nature of the contents. Please ensure to check with us before booking to clarify if this parcel can be delivered to recipients outside of the UK.

    • Cracker snaps cannot be posted internationally.

Amendments to group Size

  • After the three week point we cannot refund payments made for any person no longer able to attend.

  • We will try our best to accommodate any additional people wanting to attend the workshop after the three week point, however we cannot guarantee this will be possible. Adding extra people may incur an additional charge should express postage be required.

  • We cannot guarantee and cannot be held responsible for workshop materials not arriving in time when guests are added on after the three week point, and cannot refund places.

 SafEty and Behaviour

  • Although the majority of tools and equipment you will be using are very safe, on occasion you may be required to operate hot or sharp items (irons, scissors, sewing machines, etc). While we encourage you to enjoy your workshop as much as possible with tea / cake or something a little stronger, please keep in mind your own safety with tools and equipment you may be using.

  • Workshop hosts will show you safe use of all equipment, but please do not operate hot / sharp equipment if intoxicated.

  • Workshop host will be happy to advise and may step in if they feel you are unable to operate equipment or tools safely to stop the workshop. Please do not take offence at this; it is for your own safety. We are not responsible for unsafe operation of any equipment.

At the Workshop

  • Additional Support - If there anyone in your group that we may need to make reasonable adjustments for, or anyone that may require extra support due to disabilities please let us know with at least three weeks notice so we can make preparations and potential adjustments to ensure everyone can participate fully. The more notice we have, the better to ensure we can discuss options, provide support and make reasonable adjustments.

  • Photographs - Workshop leaders may take photos at the session, please check with your group and let our team know before the session if anyone does not want to be photographed. Photographs may be used by The Crafty Hen in published / digital media, as well as The Crafty Hen’s own social media / website.

  • Space - We ask all individuals taking part to connect to the online workshop via a good internet connection, using a laptop / large screen rather than a phone where possible. Sitting at a table to spread all your materials out on would be perfect, you may need access to a plug socket. Each workshop differs in requirements, so if you are unsure, please ask.

fOOD & DRINK

  • While we encourage you to enjoy food and drink alongside your workshop please limit this to snacks and food you can pick at during the workshop. Drinks are of course fine.
